I got to thinking this weekend about birthdays.

Why?

Because I had one of my own! And I noticed something I'll bet you've noticed too...

The older you get – the lamer the birthdays get.

I turned 38... and I swear... in some ways it felt like it should have been my 58th – or 68th.

My twin daughters turn 6 in October – yes – they are definitely princesses (and angels most of the time).

Now, THEIR birthdays are FUN.

Clowns, magicians, parties, tons of excitement and partying to be had.

Which is (to some degree) is the way it SHOULD BE.

Every year we grow older, we do have reason to celebrate and have fun.

...Another year wiser.

...Another year wealthier.

...A chance at a new year.

...A chance at making this year the best ever.

...Another year in great health.

...Another year with great relationships.

...Another year loving what you do for a living.

You know one nice thing I miss?

Birthday cards.
